ALBANY - Dr. Dodge, who practiced clairvoyant medicine in the Albany-Monroe area during the late 19th century, will be remembered at Albany Historical Society's meeting 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 16, at the Museum, 119 N. Water St., downtown Albany. Tom Fey and John Ochsner will present the program and welcome comments and questions from the audience.
A transplanted New Yorker, Dr. Dodge set up an office and charged $3 per visit, with answers to "questions of importance" each costing an additional $1. He refused to locate stolen goods, but would help find lost articles. Sometimes he would make his diagnosis from a lock of hair sent through the mail or delivered to him by a messenger.
A short business meeting will precede the program and refreshments will be served afterward. For more information, contact Ruth Beckman, president, at (608) 862-3423 or Peggy Wetter, program chairman at (608) 862-1120.
