ALBANY - The Albany Historical Society's final meeting before its summer break will be at 7 p.m. June 21 at the museum, 119 N. Water St.

No meetings will be held in July or August, so members are holding a "Show and Tell" at the June meeting. Members are asked to bring in an item that they think would be unusual, interesting or strange or has a story behind it. It could be from a trip, a found object or from any other circumstance.

The meeting is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served. The Albany Historical Museum is open year-round on Saturdays. The summer hours are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. until Labor Day.

Meetings will resume with the Sept. 20 meeting, at which Jerry Apps will speak about his book about barns. The September meeting will be at the Albertson Memorial Library.

Membership to the historical society is open to anyone. Yearly dues are $5 per adult; family membership is $8 annually. Patron membership is $25 annually, and life membership is $50.

The Albany Historical Society was established in January 1992. The museum has two buildings, located at 117-119 N. Water St., Albany.
