BRODHEAD - The Brodhead Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m. Monday, March 31 at the Bank of Brodhead, 806 E. Exchange St.

The guest speaker will be Doug Tomas of East Troy. He will be giving a presentation on his great-uncle, who was a flight engineer on a B-24 bomber and shot down over northern Italy during World War II. Tomas' research into the fate of the crew turned up some surprises, correspondence with surviving crew members, a connection with a B-24 in the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force and a trip to Italy for a dedication in 2011 in the town where the bomber crashed.

The presentation is open to the public.
