FREEPORT - Highland Community College Foundation is seeking nominations for its 20th annual Distinguished Alumni Awards.
Recipients will be honored during the foundation's annual meeting on Oct. 16 at the Freeport Country Club.
The Foundation is looking for persons who have demonstrated community leadership, professional achievement, made their start at Highland College and believe in the mission of the community college and higher education.
Nominees do not have to currently live in the Highland District. The foundation's Alumni Development Committee will review the nominations and select the award recipients. Nominees with an earned degree are preferred, although nominees who have taken some classes at HCC or participated in the Leadership Forum or Leadership Institute will also be considered.
