WHITEWATER - Argyle native Mitchell Hartwig, who is studying human resource management at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, was selected to serve on the campus' Segregated University Fee Allocation Committee.

The nine students on the committee decide how to allocate funds to student groups, according to a news release.

In the process of distributing more than $1.4 million, they learn about budgeting and policies and practice critical thinking and decision-making skills.

Students on the committee are selected from different areas of the university, including appointments from each college, Residence Hall Association and Whitewater Student Government. SUFAC approves budgets to fund more than 80 activities, programs and student organizations on campus.
