BLANCHARDVILLE - Rick Harris of Mineral Point is the featured artist for the Monthly Acoustic Music Coffee House Night 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 25, at River Valley Trading Co., 204 S. Main St., Blanchardville. Event is free - donations taken for musician.

One of River Valley's most popular performers, Rick has played rock and blues with bands across the Midwest. Now he's only performing solo. He was featured in the April/May 2009 edition of the Americana Gazette (www.americangazette.net). He has three CDs with a fourth due out this fall. Rick has been a musician since he was 11 and started writing music before he was 20. "I feel that only about five years ago did I reach the point where I feel that I am a pretty good songwriter." And it's the songwriting that he loves.

He has started painting recently - a folk art that is an extension of his music. See his paintings at folkyart.com/RickHarris.
