MONROE - Rev. Franz Rigert, Southwest Wisconsin Conference minister for the United Church of Christ, will be a guest speaker at the 8 and 9 a.m. services Sunday at St. John's United Church of Christ, 1724 14th St., Monroe. Rigert's topic will be "Friends of the Cross."
Raised in Delavan, Rigert is a graduate of Garrett Evangelical Theological Seminary in Evanston, Illinois, and was ordained in 1992. He has served churches in Wisconsin and Illinois, has led more than 25 mission trips in the United States and abroad and has been active in several Habitat for Humanity projects. He has served as conference minister since 2015.
Rigert's visit will kick off St. John's Campital Campaign, a three-year fund drive with proceeds to be divided between outdoor ministries at the Wisconsin conference's two church camps and capital improvements at St. John's. The goal for the project is $300,000.
The public is invited to hear Rigert's address.
