MONROE - Green Haven recently held various events to raise awareness to domestic violence, with October being National Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
Green Haven Family Advocates held their first 5K run/walk "Miles that Matter" on Oct. 13, and organizers said the event had a great turnout.
On Oct. 20, Green Haven held the Green County "Unsolved Mysteries of Green County" scavenger hunt. Teams traveled across Green County looking for clues and answering questions and collecting trinkets.
Green Haven is a non-profit agency that has been funded by local agencies, such as United Way, The Monroe Fund and Wisconsin's Department of Children and Families. The organization is hoping to raise money through many fundraisers and community members in the upcoming months.
Green Haven offers a 24-hour crisis helpline at (608) 325-7711, crisis intervention and support, emergency temporary shelter, in-office support groups for woman and children, teen support groups within the schools, and community education.
