MADISON - The State 4-H Meats contest was held Saturday, Feb. 20, at the UW-Madison Meats Lab in Madison. Eight counties participated in the state contest, which consists of evaluating classes of hams, beef, pork and lamb carcasses, and two placing classes of retail cuts. Youth participants also identified 30 retail cuts of beef, pork or lamb and quality, and yield graded five beef carcasses.Green County 4-H sent a Junior and Senior teams for the event.
