MONROE — Green County farmers, gardeners, cheese-makers, rural health-care workers, interested rural community members and all who value the food, fuel and fiber produced within the county are invited to an opportunity to share in a rural community dialogue with Bishop Donald Hying.
This first Diocese of Madison Rural Life Listening Session will be held on Tuesday, August 31, at St. Clare Parish gathering space from 7-9:30 p.m. and represents all communities within Green County.
Bishop Hying has dedicated himself to, in his words; “spend more time in our smaller communities with a focus on listening to the needs and challenges of today and to respond with practical help. How do we offer spiritual support, access the existing services and advocate for sustainable family Farms?” It starts with listening and learning from those most directly impacted by the current farming crisis across local family farms and struggling rural communities.
Light refreshments and coffee will be served and the current pandemic protocol of Green County highly recommends our use of masks at all indoor events. Questions directed to Tom Nelson; Rural Life Coordinator at tomnelson.art@gmail.com or by calling 608-438-7154.
