MONROE - The Green Rock Audubon Society will have a program about global warming at 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 18, at the Monroe Public Library. A film called "The Great Warming" will be shown in the second floor community room in the Monroe Public Library. This film is 85 minutes long, is narrated by Keanu Reeves and Alanis Morrisette, and addresses concerns about climate change. It examines evidence that human activities are provoking unprecedented atmospheric warming and climatic events: more drought, wildfires, flooding, polar melting, powerful storms and variable weather. It showcases initiatives to reverse trends toward permanent damage to our planet and documents emerging voices of America's faith community urging action. The public is invited.
