Good Grief: Pop Factory Players to present Charlie Brown musical

DARLINGTON — Darlington’s Pop Factory Players announced their upcoming production of You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown, the beloved musical that brings Charles Schulz’s iconic Peanuts characters to life on stage. In celebration of the 75th anniversary of the Peanuts comic strip, this family-friendly production honors a timeless story that has charmed audiences for generations, filled with heart, humor, and unmistakable Peanuts charm. 

Performances will take place at the Leona M. Havens Theatre in the Darlington High School (11838 Center Hill Road, in Darlington). Opening weekend begins at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 17 and continues at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 18. Additional performances will be held at 7 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 23 and Saturday, Jan. 24, with a final matinee at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 25. 

Based on the beloved comic strip by Charles M. Schulz, You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown explores the simple joys and everyday challenges of childhood through a series of charming vignettes. From flying kites and classroom daydreams to baseball mishaps and heartfelt moments of self-discovery, the show captures the humor and warmth that has made Peanuts a treasured favorite for generations. With memorable songs like “My Blanket and Me,” “Suppertime,” and “Happiness,” audiences of all ages are sure to leave smiling. 

Tickets are available online for $15 (plus fees) for adults and $7 (plus fees) for children 10 and under, with online sales closing one hour before each performance. If still available, tickets may be purchased at the door for $18 for adults and $10 for children 10 and under (cash or check only). Checks should be made payable to Pop Factory Players. Lobby sales open one hour prior to curtain, with auditorium doors opening 30 minutes before showtime.
