MONROE — Sandy Wille, a charter member of the GCGS, will present a program on her 2019 trip to Ireland, as well as, a short introduction to Irish genealogy March 7. Wille has been doing genealogy for about 45 years, focusing on her ancestors from Ireland, Norway and Germany. Her recent trip to Ireland included stops in Counties Cork and Kerry, where her Irish ancestors were from. She will share stories about her time there.
The Green County Genealogical Society meeting will be held in the second floor meeting room of the Monroe Public Library at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 7. Refreshments are available for 15 minutes before the meeting. Visitors are always welcome and there is no cost to attend. The GCGS Research Center, located in lower level of the Monroe Public Library, is available to the public for research. Normal Research Center hours are: Tuesdays and third Saturday 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., first Saturday after the meeting from 1 to 3 p.m., or by appointment by calling 608-921-1537. Volunteers are on staff to help with research.
