MONROE — With continued growth in programs and services, Green County Development Corporation (GCDC) has expanded their team with the addition of Wendy Flanagan as the new Project Manager.
The full-time Project Manager position is in partnership with the Green County IT department and will focus on broadband expansion throughout Green County, as well as grant and general office management for GCDC. The position fills a great need for the non-profit organization who hosted over 600 people at 12 events in 2024, and obtained several large grants supporting workforce training, healthcare and more.
“With a solid base beneath us with our incredible collaborative partnerships, we continue to expand our services and delve into other viable programs. Bringing on a project manager allows for greater focus with housing development, workforce training, and other top areas of need,” said GCDC Executive Director Olivia Otte. “We are excited to have Wendy on board and look forward to bringing more to Green County economic development.”
Wendy is a lifelong resident of Green County and grew up in Monroe. She graduated from UW-Steven’s Point with a degree in graphic design, transitioning into project management over the last eight years. She lives in Argyle with her husband, a multi-generational dairy farmer.
GCDC leads the Home Construction Cooperative program, an annual small business clinic and pitch contest, various workshops and training events, a fall breakfast event and spring dinner. They recently announced a $2 million non-state grant that will be used to support trades development throughout Green County. The Annual Dinner & Awards will be held on March 20 and will highlight the achievements of the year and honor business award nominees and winners for Business of the Year, Entrepreneurial Spirit, and Legacy Leader.
