GC youth excel at state 4-H Horse Expo in West Allis

WEST ALLIS — Four youth from Green County participated in the 2018 State 4-H Horse Expo held in September at the State Fairgrounds in West Allis. In order to participate at the State 4-H Horse Expo, Green County youth need to earn a blue ribbon in their class at the Green County Fair in July. 

Participants were Ashley Carns (Dougherty Creek), Kalley Joe Crouch (Stateline), Emma Nelson (Clarence Bridge Pioneers) and Madalynn Smith (Juda Jolly Juniors).

Ashley Carns and her horse Gunnar were state grand champions in Hunt Seat Equitation, state grand champions in Stock Seat Equitation, state reserve champions in Trail, top 10 in Western Pleasure, top 10 in Hunter Under Saddle and top 10 in Western Riding.

Kalley Joe Crouch and her horse Ashton placed in the top 10 in Trail. Emma Nelson and her horse Claire received a top 10 designation in 12-year-old Hunt Seat Showmanship. Madalynn Smith and her horse Babe also represented Green County and competed at State 4-H Horse Expo.
