BELLEVILLE - The Green County Dairy Days committee has announced that the Green County Dairy Days festival will be June 25 and the cattle show will be June 18.
The cattle show will begin at 9:30 a.m. June 18 at the Green County fairgrounds in Monroe. Families are invited to attend and watch the fun.
The Green County Dairy Days festival will be June 25 in Belleville. The festivities start at 8 a.m. with the "Dairy Days Dash" Fun Run at Library Park. The "Queens Brunch" will follow at the First United Church of Christ with "MooTails" at 9:30 a.m. and brunch at 10 a.m. At 1 p.m., the parade will proceed down Main Street with the "Queen's Coronation" to follow. There will be food, face painting, cheese tasting, a petting zoo, music and more in Library Park after the coronation in the park at 3 p.m.
Every June, the 11 Green County communities choose a new Community Dairy Queen. On the Thursday before Dairy Days, all new queens are judged during the day. In the morning at the "Queen Banquet," the queens will introduce themselves and answer a question chosen by the judges. The judges will then select the new Green County Dairy Queen and Princess who will be named after the parade on June 25.
The Green County Dairy Queen and Princess are the official hostesses for the Green County Ag Chest. The Community Dairy Queens are hostesses in their communities.
