MONROE — The Green County 4-H program was well represented at the State 4-H Dog Obedience and Showmanship Show held Aug. 9 to 11 in Janesville. Junior and senior teams in the Dog Quiz Bowl competitions, as well as two individual members that each participated in the Obedience and Showmanship categories all placed well and brought home ribbons.
Green County’s Junior Dog Quiz Bowl team was made up of Annelise Bethke (Cheese Country Clovers), Anna Polnow (Cheese Country Clovers), Leilah King (Next Generation) and Ayvah King (Next Generation). The junior team placed third in their competition.
The Senior Dog Quiz Bowl team consisted of Kelli Polnow (Cheese Country Clovers), Chelsey Gilbert (Clarno), and Abby Marty (New Glarus). The senior team placed third in their competition.
Annelise Bethke with her Papillon Max and Leilah King with her Papillon Poppy represented Green County in the Novice Dog Obedience (grades 4-5) and Dog Showmanship (grade 5) competitions as well. Annelise and Max placed second in Novice Obedience and Leilah and Poppy placed third. Leilah and Poppy placed second in Showmanship and Annelise and Max placed 8th.
