Gardening event is June 7

NEW GLARUS - The Green County Master Gardeners, along with Brenda's Blumenladen, will host the gardening event, "Learn, Grow, Bloom" at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 7, at Brenda's Blumenladen, 17 6th Ave.

Master Gardeners will be answering horticulture questions and doing a pruning demonstration for participants. Featured speaker and garden expert, Melinda Myers, will be on hand to discuss "Selecting, Growing and Combining Perennials." Myers has more than 30 years of horticulture experience and has written over 20 gardening books. Books will be available to purchase and a book signing will follow her presentation. She was also a featured columnist and contributing editor for Birds and Blooms magazine.

Additional speakers and topics will include Kyle Aurit, Bailey Nurseries, presenting New Perennials for 2014; Gary Graber, Bonide, to answer all garden, insect, weed and pest control questions; and Darrell Smith, Purple Cow Organics, and Kris Mayhew, Evergreen Home and Garden, demonstrating how to use and enjoy Firepots.
