WHITEWATER - Malinda Friske, a University of Wisconsin-Whitewater student from Monroe who is studying biology, is a recipient of the 2016-17 Outstanding Adult Student Award.
The honor recognizes a nontraditional student on campus who has shown a passion for learning, a commitment for their academic program and who has contributed significantly to the university community while managing the multiple life roles of a nontraditional student.
Friske was nominated by both Baocheng Han, professor of chemistry, and Heather Pelzel, assistant professor of biological sciences. According to a news release, Han said Friske is industrious, intelligent, reliable and one of the best students in his class.
