SHULLSBURG - Friends of the Shullsburg Public Library will be sponsoring their eighth annual "Tree of Love" fundraiser throughout the month of January and February - with February being the month of love.
The "Tree of Love" is a fundraising program designed for participants to honor or remember special people in their lives. For a $5 donation, participants can purchase a heart ornament that will be hung on an evergreen tree located on display in the McCoy Shullsburg Public Library. The tree will be lit Friday, Feb. 12, when the library opens at 2 p.m.
The tree will stay lit for approximately one month. Heart donations can be purchased from any Friend of the Shullsburg Library member, at the library or by contacting Carol Stoudt at (608) 965-4424, extension 5. One name per ornament is encouraged, except with a husband and wife memorial. Deadline for submission is Saturday, Feb. 3.
Money from this event will be used to continue to buy equipment, books, videos and materials for the library, in addition to funding other projects for continual library improvements.
For more information or to join the Friends of the Shullsburg Public Library, interested people can contact Carol Stoudt, McCoy Public Library Director, at (608) 965-4424, extension 5.
