ALBANY — The Friends of the Badger and Sugar River State Trails invites the public to help maintain the area’s beautiful trails by joining them for Earth Day Trail Cleanup, beginning at 9 a.m. on Saturday, April 26.
Job tasks will entail picking up trash, moving branches and clearing brush from the trails. The Friends group will supply garbage bags and send a Friends decal as a thank you to any volunteer who spends at least an hour doing trail maintenance as part of the Earth Day Trail Cleanup event.
Meeting sites for Earth Day Trail Cleanup include:
● Fitchburg — Trailhead at Purcell Road and Sayles Trail
● Belleville — Library Park
● New Glarus — Train Depot — Sugar River Trailhead
● Monticello — Badger Trail Parking Lot
● Albany — Trail Parking Lot
If April 26 does not work for an individual due to scheduling, but they would still like to help, contact the Friends group at membership@friendsofbadgerstatetrail.org to let them know of availability, or to ask any outstanding questions.
