FREEPORT - Winneshiek Players announce open auditions for the zany and oft requested musical, "Nunsense" by Dan Goggin.
Director Mark Jansen will lead the "Little Sisters of Hoboken" as they hold a fundraiser to bury Sisters accidentally poisoned by the convent cook, Sister Julia-Child of God.
Auditions will be held at 7 p.m. on Monday, March 3 and Tuesday, March 4, at the Winneshiek Playhouse, 228 W. Clark St., Freeport.
It is open to the public and all are welcome.
Parts are for five women ages 20's to 90's.
Women auditioning will be asked to a sing a song from the musical score, do a reading from the script and participate in a brief choreography lesson.
Musicians, backstage crew and other volunteers are also needed to produce "Nunsense."
Performance dates are May 30 and 31 and June 5, 6 and 7.
