FREEPORT - Highland Community College will host a free informational session at 9 a.m. Saturday, April 12 to provide more information about the wind turbine technician career and the new degree program, which will be available beginning in the fall 2008 semester.
During the session, college faculty and staff will be available to answer questions related to the career opportunities for wind technicians, program curriculum, admissions requirements, and financial aid. Program partner EcoEnergy will also be in attendance to provide information about the wind industry. The information session will be held in the Student/Conference Center, room H201.
The initial capacity for the program is 16 students the first year, plus 16 new students in the second year for a total of 32 students. HCC plans to increase the program's capacity to 48 students within three years.
