FREEPORT - Friends Forever Humane Society's "Chili Day" is Wednesday, March 5, at the Freeport Eagles Club, 1200 W. Galena Ave., Freeport. Serving is from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The menu includes chili, barbecues, cornmeal muffins, cheese, chips and home baked desserts. Cost is $6.50 for adults, $4.50 for children under 12, and $6.50 for carryouts. All money raised will be used to help fund operating costs of the Society's homeless companion animal shelter at 966 Rudy Road, Freeport.
