MONROE — The Fowler Memorial Dental Clinic in Monroe is gearing up for its upcoming “Spookeasy” fundraising event, and the community is invited to join in supporting the important work the clinic provides to residents of Green and Lafayette Counties.

The clinic is more than just a source of oral health care; it is also a living tribute. It was named in honor of Dr. Donald Fowler, a proud 1971 Brodhead High School graduate and beloved dentist who dedicated his life to serving others. Dr. Fowler was a fiercely devoted family man, deeply committed to those he loved, and he carried that same spirit into his practice. Known for his easygoing nature and kindness, he treated every patient as though they were family. He was generous with his time and talents, and he never turned anyone away who was in need of care. His legacy of compassion, service, and excellence in dentistry continues to guide the mission of the clinic that bears his name.

Today, Fowler Memorial Dental Clinic fills a critical gap in local health care. It is the only dental clinic in Green and Lafayette Counties that accepts Medicaid (ForwardHealth), BadgerCare, and also treats patients without insurance. As a nonprofit organization, the clinic relies on grants, donations, and community support to maintain its operations and ensure access to care for everyone, regardless of their financial situation.

At the heart of the clinic’s success is its dentist, Dr. Alison Taleb, known for her compassion and dedication to exceptional dental care. With extensive training under leading pioneers in the field, Dr. Taleb combines advanced skill with a welcoming, “judgement free” approach that puts patients at ease. Her mission is to provide high-quality, accessible, affordable care while creating a supportive environment where every patient feels valued. Her warmth and enthusiasm for life carry into her work, where she is committed to building lasting relationships and helping patients achieve healthy, confident smiles.

The upcoming “Spookeasy” fundraiser will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on October 10 at the Monroe Golf Club, 2205, 21st Street. It will feature carnival games with prizes, face painting, a 50/50 raffle, a silent auction, live music by Hugo Espinoza, hors d’oeuvres, a cash bar, and fun for the whole family. All proceeds will enable the clinic to continue its mission of providing affordable and accessible dental services to those who might otherwise be unable to receive them.

The Fowler Memorial Dental Clinic continues to serve as a reminder that health care is not just about treating patients. It is about caring for neighbors, honoring those who came before, and building a stronger future for the community.
