'Following the Fall' expo open at Visitors Center

FREEPORT - Stop by the Freeport/Stephenson County Visitors Center and take a tour of our "Following the Fall" Expo featuring the great fall and Halloween attractions in Stephenson County.

Interesting displays in the expo include a coffin with its own skeleton from the Old Haunted Mill in Orangeville and a hearse from the Lena Haunted Barn. Bring your camera to take a picture in front of the hearse.

Train of Terror has a special display promoting their event to be held Oct. 3, 10, and 17 at the Silver Creek and Stephenson Railroad Antique Steam Train.

At the visitor center, there are apples for sale from Honey Hill Orchard in McConnell and pumpkins and gourds from Eleroy's Huron Market.

Other displays feature Famous Fossil Winery, Riverview Bike Rental, a new Lincoln-Douglas Debate Exhibit, an exhibit about Oakdale in October along with a scarecrow, as well as information about the Stephenson County Barn Tour, which will be held on October 11.

Tickets for the tour will be on sale at the Visitors Center.

At the Visitors Center, pick up a copy of the Stephenson County Fall Driving Tours brochure for great information about where to go for a nice country drive this fall.

The "Following The Fall" Expo is on display through Nov. 1.
