'Fling' event will be June 2

BROWNTOWN - Friends Of Cadiz Springs State Recreation Area is hosting a Fling Into Summer celebration from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, June 2 at the park, N2241 Cadiz Springs Road.

The first weekend in June is open house at Wisconsin state parks, so no admission sticker will be needed, and there will be no charge for games, prizes and activities. There will be new games this year, including Leaping Lily Pads, Spin The Wheel and Cheese Match Game.

In addition, Jay Bonnell will be on hand to answer questions about geocaching. Those who own a GPS can bring it and look for the geocaches in the park. Also at the park is hiking trails, two lakes and a sandy beach, a volleyball court and picnic areas for family recreation.

Frozen custard from Culver's Restaurant, along with brats and hot dogs, pickles, chips and cold soft drinks will be sold. The proceeds will be used to help purchase new playground equipment for the park.
