DARLINGTON — The Lafayette County Historical and Genealogy Society (LCHGS) recently announced that renowned Civil War musicians will provide an afternoon program in Veterans Park on Sept. 20 as part of “Night (and Day) at the Museum 2025.”

This event, like the movies of similar name, fills Lafayette County’s historical museum and the park outside of its doors, with characters from local history for the public to interact with.

There will be historical re-enactors from early settlers, pioneers, and miners, to fur traders, and civil war soldiers and more. With a Civil War cavalry unit and artillery unit present, Civil War will be in the spotlight.

The event is three days of fun, and free to attend. On Friday, Sept. 19, school groups are encouraged to attend. LCHGS has funding to cover the cost of transportation.

Saturday afternoon includes the First Brigade Band performance in the afternoon and The Blackbridge Boys playing at 6 p.m.

On Sunday the re-enactors will be present in the park from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

There will also be food available, hands-on activities, a quilt show, and ancient artifacts on display.  For more information, contact Barb at 608-482-2483.
