Fire Dept. celebrates 100th anniversary

ARGYLE - The Argyle-Adams Fire Department will hold its 100 year anniversary celebration on Saturday, July 20.

At noon, there will be a fire truck parade featuring the Beloit Fire Department Color Guard, as well as many other area departments.

From 1 to 5 p.m. at American Legion Park, there will be fireman competitions, an obstacle course, water fights, a fire truck display, kids games, face painting, a bounce house, a balloon artist, and life safety house demonstration. Beer and food will be served at the Main Shelter House.

From 5 to 7 p.m., an open house will be at the firehouse. On display will be old pictures, records, historical items and fire equipment.

From 7 to 8 p.m., there will be a recognition of service. A video of the 50th anniversary Oyster Supper will be played.

From 8 p.m. to midnight, a street dance will be held under the tent by the firehouse, with music provided by The Jimmys.
