4-H
One of the best parts about 4-H club meetings are the recreational activities that go along with them! Here, members of the Cheese Country Clovers 4-H club get to have fun with each other during a round of Disc Golf at Twining Park.

All year round 4-H explore the world and journey to new places. These growing opportunity afford members to practice fundamental skills needed in the future while having fun along the way. 4-H programs provide guidance in STEM, healthy living, cooking, crafting, civic engagement, environmental safety and preservation, organizational skills and cooperation, among many other areas. The four H’s in 4-H stand for Head, Heart, Hands, and Health. The pledge, recited at every meeting, exemplifies how each member dedicates themselves to serving their club, their community, their country and their world.

I pledge my head to clearer thinking, My heart to greater loyalty, My hands to larger service, and my health to better living, for my club, my community, my country, and my world.

Before anyone arrives at the County Fair, 4-H members have already put in countless hours of caring for and working with their project animals. Pictured here are Browntown Busy Beavers 4-H club members Mara and Milo Dickson and their Fair pigs that they are preparing for the show ring.

The pandemic put many restrictions on how 4-H clubs could meet in person last year, but many clubs still found safe ways to get together and have fun. Clarno 4-H club members had a sledding party at Northeast Park, a welcome outdoor and social activity for everyone!

4-H clubs get creative with the ways they give back to their communities. In May, the Young Americans 4-H club put together paper May Day flowers and gave them to the residents at Pleasant View Skilled Nursing and Rehab. This was a fun craft project for the youth to enjoy together, and it also brought lots of joy to the nursing home residents at the same time.
