The Monroe Youth Center held an end of year celebration after a successful first year with a pizza party. 

The center opened in September and has provided food, activities and a place to be for area middle school youth after school throughout the year. The group relies on community support and all activities are provided at no charge. The group has made and distributed May day baskets, done yoga, movies, games and homework help, to name a few things. 

Coordinator Christina Johnson and assistant Mary Andrews, along with many other adult volunteers have donated time to the group. The Youth Center will be open for all middle school age students when school resumes in September.
