MONROE - Elsa Salesman, a resident of Pleasant View, Monroe, will observe her 90th birthday on Feb. 20. She has been a member of the Green County farm community since 1961.
Lawrence and Elsa moved from northeast Illinois when they purchased the former Clarence Berg farm on Ridge Road in Jordan Township. With the help of their children Patsy, Jim, John and Linda, they developed a herd of Registered Holsteins.
The herd was dispersed in July 1988. Her children live in four different states. Elsa stayed on her farm caring for summer pasture rentals until moving to assisted living in Monroe.
