Family Promise appoints five new board members

MONROE - The Family Promise of Green County announced the appointment of several new board members in recent months.

New members include: Fairy Elmer, Jon Brunner, Stephanie King, Jackie Erlandson and Ron Georgeson.

Elmer, Albany, owns her own company, Risk Management Services, an agricultural marketing and finance company. She is also a member in Elmer Farms, LLC., and Elmer Meats, LLC. She has served on various boards including nine years on the Albany school board.

Brunner, Monroe, works as a Production Manager at Klondike Cheese Co. He has held engineering positions and operations management positions at his previous places of employment. He became involved in Family Promise through the Green County Leaders Program.

King, BS, CSW, is a social worker with the children, youth and families unit of Green County Human Services, where she has been employed since 2010. She investigates child abuse and neglect, and is also a forensic interviewer with the Green County Child Advocacy Center.

Erlandson is a retired English teacher who also worked as a library aide at Monroe High School for 12 years. She has chaired the arts program in the schools, on the MAC Board, and on church committees.

Georgeson retired in 2007 after serving for 10 years as the president of Amcore Bank, now First National Bank. He has served on several boards, including Monroe Clinic, Monroe Clinic Foundation, Chamber of Commerce, Green County Development, Big Brothers/Big Sisters and United Way.

Family Promise of Green County was started in November of 2011 to provide shelter for homeless families through the Interfaith Hospitality Network - a network of churches that provide food and overnight accommodations through the help of volunteers.
