From wineries to farmers markets, corn mazes to orchards, and from breweries to farm stays, agricultural tourism has something to meet every visitor’s preference.
The Wisconsin Agricultural Tourism Association (WATA) and State Leadership is kicking off Wisconsin’s Agricultural Tourism Fall Season September 11- November 2, 2025 by visiting and recognizing many Agricultural Tourism Destinations.
This Fall guests are invited to explore Wisconsin Agricultural Tourism Destinations. Agricultural tourism provides opportunities for families to have authentic experiences filled with learning, food and fun on the farm. With only 1.2% of the population working directly in growing row crops, specialty crops or raising livestock, most Americans are removed from the people and activities that grow their food, fiber and lumber.
“Most people are two, three or even four generations removed from life on the farm,” said Sheila Everhart, Executive Director, Wisconsin Agricultural Tourism Association. “There’s a growing hunger to get back in contact with the soil, to see farms, and to shake the hand that feeds them. Wisconsin farms are perfect places to participate in something different, fun and educational.”
Members of WATA are farms of all sizes and with a wide range of activities offered throughout the seasons, from petting zoos featuring farm babies in the spring, to fruit picking and flowers all summer, to corn mazes, pumpkin patches, hayrides, and Halloween rides in the late fall, to Christmas trees and sleigh rides in the winter.
The Wisconsin Agricultural Tourism Association’s website allows visitors to search for destinations across the state. Filter your search by location or activity and find adventures your family will love.
Fall enthusiasts of all ages are encouraged to participate in the Maze Challenge sponsored by the Wisconsin Agricultural Tourism Association.
“There are hundreds of corn mazes in Wisconsin, some of the best in the Midwest. Visitors navigating corn mazes engage all their senses, and use curiosity, problem-solving, and communication skills as they work to get out of the maze,” said Sheila Everhart.
“Most importantly, this immersive experience helps teach where corn is grown and provides an opportunity to connect with Wisconsin farms in a meaningful way.”
To participate in the maze challenge, simply visit one of the corn mazes on WATA-member farms between September 11 and November 2 for a chance to win prizes by sharing a photo of your visit to Facebook or Instagram with the tag #WATAMAZE.
“For insider knowledge and travel tips,” said Everhart “Be sure to scan the 18 blogs and 32 podcasts at wiagritourism.com to assist you in planning your next Wisconsin ag-venture.”
Remember, Winter, spring, summer and fall — Wisconsin is America’s agricultural tourism destination! Get out and explore.”
