MONROE - Applications are being accepted now through Wednesday, May 1 for the Green County Fairest of the Fair contest.
Green County Fairest of the Fair serves as the official ambassador for the Green County Fair throughout the year. The program includes opportunities to educate area schools and youth and adult organizations about the Green County Fair, as well as making special appearances in selected parades or events to promote the fair.
To be eligible to participate applicants must be residents of Green County and at least 18 years old as of Jan. 1, 2014. Applicants must be familiar with the Green County Fair, willing to fulfill promotional duties throughout their reign, and have a valid driver's license.
Interviews will be held on Saturday, May 18. The Fairest of the Fair will be selected by a panel of judges based on communications skills, knowledge and experience with Green County Fair, school and community activities, professional appearance and personality.
The crowing of the new Green County Fairest of the Fair will take place at the Green County Breakfast on the Farm on Saturday, May 25 at the Jeff and Katie Falk Farm, Monroe. In addition, this year's Fairest of the Fair will represent the Green County Fair at the Wisconsin Fairest of the Fairs competition to be held in January 2014 in Wisconsin Dells.
