Extension Green Co. holding class to help those who are aging
Community Brief

MONROE — When knowing more about the things that should be expected in life — health, finances, relationships — one can manage it all better and feel more confident and healthy, according to Extension Green County. Living life to the fullest doesn’t mean ignoring the difficult stuff. Being better able to confront the changes experienced in the second half of life can help those live fully and courageously.

Extension Green County’s Aging Mastery class aims to help teach about key topics that are important to aging, as well as skills and resources that will help participants “master” them. These include nutrition and exercise, finances and end-of-life planning, managing medications, better sleep, relationships and isolation, and community engagement. The class is online in the evening and is as interactive as the participant would like it to be — introverts and extroverts are welcome and will enjoy the approach to learning and connecting with others.

The class is free, and participants receive a free information-packed workbook with room for notes and ideas. The class will meet on Wednesday evenings from 5:30-7 p.m. via the online platform, Zoom. Classes start July 10 and runs for 10 weeks. Those that have never used Zoom, or feel a little unsure, should still sign up and let Extension Green County know.
