GRATIOT - The Gratiot Evangelical Free Church, 5605 Main St., will hold its annual Weekend Missions Conference on Saturday, Oct. 6 and Sunday, Oct. 7.
David Witt will be the featured speaker of the conference. He is the CEO of a mission organization, The Spirit of Martyrdom. It supports missionary Russell Stendahl in his efforts in bringing peace through the gospel message to the warring factions in Colombia.
At 10:30 a.m. Saturday, there will be a breakfast brunch at the church. Dean Cernek, who has recently returned from a trip to Colombia, will share his experience in that country.
At 7 p.m., Witt will talk about the work being done to bring the gospel to the guerrillas in mountainous areas, as well as to the military and the common people in Columbia.
At 9:30 and 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Witt share slides and information about how he sees God is changing lives there.
The events are open to the public.
