MONROE - The Green County Area Entrepreneur and Inventor's group continues 2011 with a series called "Resources for Business."
On April 4, 2011, the third installment of the series, "What's it worth to you?" will feature business feasibility -how to analyze your business or business idea for profitability. The meeting is from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at a new location -the First National Bank & Trust's lower level conference room, 1625 10th Street.
The meeting is free and open to the public. Refreshments are available.
David Vobora, Business Development Director for the Southwestern Wisconsin Community Action Program, will deliver a presentation entitled, "What's it Worth to You?"
Focusing on low-cost market research techniques, the presentation is for current and prospective business owners who want to learn ways to forecast the profitability of their business ideas. A graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison with degrees in both psychology and political science, Vobora has a diverse background. After spending the early part of his career in systems analysis and design with a regional insurance company, Vobora joined the corporate planning department of one of the country's largest savings and loans.
During this same time, he served as Personnel Officer for a local chapter of Big Brothers/Big Sisters.
In 1989, Vobora was recruited to be operations manager for one of the country's leading non-standard auto insurers and later became manager of the company's market services group, delivering advertising, pricing, and project management.
In 2001, Vobora left the life of a corporate nomad to become a partner in a small retail business. In 2006 he joined the SWCAP as Business Development Director. Since then, Vobora has helped launch 30 new businesses, and expand another 15. Those 45 businesses have added 129 jobs in southwestern Wisconsin.
In addition to the speaker and topic, those attending will have time to introduce themselves and share a little about themselves and their invention, business or business idea. Bring your business cards and network with other inventors and entrepreneurs.
The Green County Area Entrepreneurs and Inventors is an informational forum where entrepreneurs, inventors, new businesses and people thinking about starting their own businesses can come together to encourage each other and share challenges and successes.
