DARLINGTON — In recognition of National EMS Week, Darlington Area EMS, Inc. will host an open house and picnic for the public from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 15 at the Green County EMS Darlington Station, 127 W. Louisa St.
The event is open to the public and will teach about services local volunteers provide with a meal served by members. The menu will include hamburgers, brats, hot dogs and the fixings.
The meal is free, but donations will be accepted. There will be equipment displays and headquarters and ambulances will be open for viewing. Several members will answer questions and will be providing free blood sugar and blood pressure checks.
Volunteers with the Green County EMS Darlington Station respond to over 300 calls a year, serving Darlington and Gratiot, and townships of Darlington, Gratiot, Lamont, Fayette, Willow Springs and Seymour.
