Emotional Problem Solvers
abe self classes 02
Amirah Mazahreh and Avah Albaugh create their problem-solving steps using chalk to walk through and find the best solution.

Social-Emotional Learning Foundations, also known as S.E.L.F classes, at Abraham Lincoln Elementary School in Monroe have been busy working with their guidance counselor, Aaron Heim on their Second Step Lessons throughout the year.

One area they have been focusing on is their problem solving skills. Fourth graders spent some time working in pairs discussing a problem and following the problem-solving steps to pick the best solution. They drew out these steps together.
