JUDA - The combined choirs of Juda Zion and Oakley Union Churches will present the 25th annual Easter musical at the Juda church.
Performances are scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Palm Sunday, March 25 and 1:30 p.m. Good Friday, March 30 at N2350 Church Street in Juda.
This year's dramatic musical is Bow The Knee, created by Chris Machen and arranged by Richard Kingsmore. It tells the old story with familiar hymns and new songs. The focus is on two Roman soldiers who react very differently to the ministry, arrest and death of Jesus. Marcus, played by Bob Severson Jr., rejects the Messiah's claims.
However, Anthony, played by Gene Dobbins, experiences the resurrection and comes to faith in Christ because of his two servants who are believers.
Playing the traditional roles are Pat Daniels as Jesus and Mark Woodward as Pilate. The play is directed by Shelly Jordan.
Other members of the cast and crew are Rudy Kaderly, Dakota Davis, Rachel Schneider, Dennis Pfingsten, Marvin Becker, Jacob Hoesly, Joyce Hoesly, JoAnn Dobbins, Abigail Schneider, Jean Busker, Sharon Creuzer, Kim Shields, Kim Becker, Darlene Becker, JoAnn Eberle, Julie Davis, Kay Carter, Danny Pollock, Stephanie Pollock, Judy Kaderly, Jan Ladwig, Chip Matzke, Brian Matzke, Libby Jordan, Blake Adkins, Liana Daniels and Ciarrah Davis.
Following the program, a time of fellowship and refreshments will be held. Both performances are open to the public and there is no admission, but a free-will offering will be accepted.
