MONROE — The Wisconsin Department of Instruction released its annual report cards detailing public and private schools and districts on Nov. 16.
The 2019-2020 school year report cards were suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic. With ongoing impacts, the U.S. Department of Education again waived federal Every Student Succeeds Act accountability requirements for 2020-21 school year data. The act ensures schools are held responsible for student learning and performance by examining school report cards and matching resources to best suit the schools needs, safeguarding equal education for all.
The Wisconsin State Legislature did not grant another suspension for the 2020-2021 academic year. The DPI does warn when interpreting scores and ratings, pandemic influences must be taken into account.
Green County schools have continued to fluctuate over the last 10 years of report cards. Scores released indicate Darlington’s school district to have the highest DPI score of local schools at 81.1 and Monroe, the lowest, at 59.7.
Albany scored a 73.9 overall, Argyle 71.7, Black Hawk 73.3, Brodhead 67.3, Juda 67.3, Monticello 71.9, New Glarus 76.9 and Pecatonica 7.48.
