JUDA - Child Development Day in the Juda School District is scheduled to take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, March 7 at the elementary school.

Individual screenings will take approximately 45 minutes. In the event of a school closing on March 7, it will be re-scheduled for Wednesday, March 14.

The district provides services for 3-years-old who have special education needs; a partial-day program for children turning 4 years old by Saturday, Sept. 1; and a full-day kindergarten program for children turning 5 by Sept. 1, 2012.

Parents of children who will be 3 or 4 years old by Sept. 1 should call the district office at (608) 938-5152, ext. 221 to register for the event.

Parents should indicate morning or afternoon preference time for the play-based observation when they call. Information packets will be sent to all families who register. Families who are planning to enroll their 4-year-old in school next fall should participate in the screening.

Families who have children turning 3 by Sept. 1 are also encouraged to participate in the screening.

Parents with children ages birth to 3 who have developmental concerns will also have the opportunity to visit with Green County's Birth to Three program coordinator during the event.
