WHITEWATER - The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater announced more than 2,900 students that were named to the fall 2011 Dean's List.

To be eligible for the honor, students must have a 3.4 semester grade point average with a minimum of 12 semester credits and no grades lower than a "C."

Area students include Albany resident Hillary Y. Best.

Blanchardville resident was Maureen P. Johanna.

Brodhead residents were Delaney K. Fenwick, Nicholas J. Fox, Garrett J. Francis, Caleb D. Frost, Katherine A. Hamel, Kaila R. Knutson, Samantha A. Shelton, Katherine Timm and Siara D. Winans.

Darlington residents were LeeAnn K. Kurschner, Paola Martinez and Garrett M. Wall.

Juda residents were Kurtis W. Mansfield and Joshua J. Pierce.

New Glarus residents were Kalie A. Krahenbuhl, Matthew D. Lundberg and Haley E. Shutter.

Marquette University

MILWAUKEE - Marquette University, Milwaukee, recently named students to the Dean's List for the fall 2011 semester.

Area students were:

n Tyler Brewster, Brodhead. Brewster is pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing.

n Olivia Wedig, Darlington. Wedig is pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in biomedical sciences.

n Shawni Smith, Darlington. Smith is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree in broadcast and electronic communications.

n Carly Hutchins, Evansville. Hutchins is pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting.

n Dylan Starck, Monroe. Starck is pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in biomedical sciences.

n Cecilia Ford, Monticello. Ford is pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in physics.

Northwestern College

ST. PAUL, Minn. - Nellie Black, Darlington, was recently named with highest honors to the fall semester dean's list at Northwestern College.

Black, daughter of Bryan and Shelly Black, is pursuing a degree in biochemistry at Northwestern.

The dean's list includes full-time students with a grade point average (GPA) during the semester of 3.65 (out of 4.0) or higher. Highest honors are awarded to students with a GPA of 3.90-4.0.
