MONROE — February marks Women’s History Month, and the Colonel Benjamin Harrison Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution is celebrating by donating books on influential women throughout history to libraries in Green and Lafayette counties.
Women have shaped the nation since its founding — serving in wartime, leading resistance movements, breaking barriers in business, and contributing in countless other ways. These donated books highlight the stories of women who fought in World War II, led slave revolts, served as spies, built iconic companies, and made lasting impacts across generations.
Residents are encouraged to visit their local libraries to explore these remarkable stories and learn more about the women who helped define American history.
The Colonel Benjamin Harrison Chapter will host events throughout this year celebrating the 250th anniversary of America’s independence.
