DARLINGTON - The Darlington school district will celebrate Homecoming Week through Saturday, Oct. 13.
On Thursday, Oct. 10, each class can build floats from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. at the high school. The parade is set for 7 p.m. and will start at the municipal building, 627 Main St., and end at Casey's General Store, 145 Main St. Following the parade, from 7:30 to 8 p.m., a pep rally will be held at the festival grounds behind Casey's. The Darlington High School football team will walk through and a ceremony for the donators of the lights will be held.
On Friday, Oct. 11, an all-high school student and staff tailgate lunch will be held from noon to 12:45 p.m. Class competitions in cheer, volleyball serve, field goal kicking, golf driving, relay race and Powder Puff football games will be held from 12:45 to 3:30 p.m.
From 5:30 to 6 p.m., there will be a ceremony to unveil the new concession stand. Funds were generated by purchasing decorative bricks, used in the construction of the stand, and from larger donations from other supporters of the Darlington school district.
From 6:30 to 6:45 p.m., a pre-game performance will be held by dancers from Darlington and Mineral Point. Four age levels of students will perform.
The Homecoming football game will kick off at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 11.
