DARLINGTON — The Darlington Lions Club will hold a 5K Walk/Run on Oct. 13, 2021. Participants should meet at the Lion’s Picnic Shelter located behind the Darlington Piggly Wiggly at 5 p.m.

Organized and run by Lion volunteers all proceeds from entry fees and pledge donations will go towards the Build the Pool project — an ongoing capital campaign to raise funds to replace the deteriorating 62-year old municipal swimming pool.

The entry fee is $25 or whatever the participant chooses to donate. Pledge collection is encouraged to maximize the donation. Entry and pledge forms are available at Southwest Graphics or Town & Country Insurance. Anyone donating $25 or more will receive a Walk/Run T-Shirt.

The route will start at the trail and go towards Roller Coaster Road and back.

“We selected the route so that participants can enjoy the event at their own skill level. It’s challenging enough for seasoned runners, but will also be beautiful for walkers and those with strollers with the colorful fall foliage,” said Lion President Brent Erickson.
