DARLINGTON - Have you ever reminisced about the exciting events that surrounded your wedding day? Certainly the wedding apparel, bridal gown, tuxedos, bridesmaid, flower girl and mother of the bride dresses, were important features of the day. Let's not forget the unexpected events, such as leaving someone behind or a blizzard, which added to the excitement.
The Home and Community Education Association of Lafayette County is offering the opportunity to turn back the clock and enjoy an afternoon filled with antiques and "I do" nostalgia at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 9, at the First Banking Center meeting room, Darlington.
This special event will recognize two life altering events in a women's life, her Wedding Day and her diagnosis with Breast Cancer. Donations from the event will benefit breast cancer research.
Wedding customs from around the world will be discussed and a wedding apparel style show, (featuring models of young and old) will be held. Wedding cake and refreshments, as well as live music, will certainly take you back to celebrate customs and clothing worn throughout the years.
For more information contact the UW-Extension office at (608) 776-4820.
