Darlington Fiesta offers fun of all kinds

DARLINGTON - The Darlington Chamber/Main Street presents Darlington Fiesta on Saturday, May 5 at the City of Darlington Festival Grounds.

Sponsored by numerous businesses and associations, the Hispanic musical and cultural event is free and families are encouraged to attend.

There will be food booths, a salsa-tasting contest, arts and crafts booths, children's games and inflatable rides.

The opening ceremony is at noon with the Darlington Elementary and Middle School choir performing under the direction of John Bausch. Ballet Folkloric National of Milwaukee performs at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m and a talent show will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. at the middle school. A Zumba demonstration will take place at 5 p.m. with music from DJ Zyby following the demonstration.

For sports enthusiasts, the festival includes a soccer tournament at Black Bridge Park, a basketball tournament at Riverside Park and a kickball tournament at Sieg Field.

Watch local athletes compete with other teams from the Midwest.

A special afternoon event will be the piñata breaking at 2 p.m.

A dance featuring the band "Banda Seduccion" will wrap up the Fiesta with a $10 admission per person, age 21 years or older, unless accompanied by a parent.
