DARLINGTON — The Advisory Board of the Darlington Community Fund awarded grants to area organizations serving the needs of Darlington. Grants were presented to the following organizations:
● Darlington Chamber/Mainstreet:
“Tunes at Twilight” & “Fall in Love With Darlington”
● Driver Opera House: “Performance Showcase Event”
● Family Connections of SW Wisconsin: “Outdoor Adventures, This Way To Nature Play”
● Lafayette County Historical Society: “Night (and Day) at the Museum — a free community event
● Darlington Community School District: “UW Madison Varsity March Band Opportunity”; “Snow Shoes”
The Darlington Community Fund is a component of the Community Foundation of Southern Wisconsin, a non-profit public foundation serving nine Southern Wisconsin counties. The Darlington Community Fund and the Community Foundation of Southern Wisconsin assist individuals with their charitable contributions, in order to create enduring endowments for their communities.
The Darlington Community Fund was formed in 1999 and the Darlington Excellence in Education Fund in 2003. These funds have given back over $400,000 in grants to the Darlington Community. A wide array of interests, including the arts, education, recreation, heath care, human services, social services, historic preservation and housing needs, benefit from these grants which assist Darlington residents in all age groups — from the very young to the young at heart!
